I came from a place that people sing and dance.
I came from a place that people live in misery,
and still at the end of the 20th century are
subjected to many forms of persecution
and prejudice.

Music is the instrument I have to express
the feelings of the wonderful yet mistreated
people of Brazil and my love for them.

Brazilian people is loving, happy, inteligent,
beautiful, talented, sensual, peaceful,
and pocesses one of the strongest

musical cultures of the world, and deserve
to be treated with respect, and to have
civil and human rights like other people has.

I play their dreams, their cries, their faith, their sorrow,
their love, their happiness, their scream for justice, their
tears, their joy, their fear... I play at the piano,
at the beat my people gave me, as a gift, the moment
I was born, the beat of the Samba.
