WHEN - April 2, 1964.

WHERE - Recife, Pernambuco.

WHO - Gregorio Bezerra, born on March13, 1900.
Colonel Vilote and other men of the general Justino
Alves Bastos, commander of the 4th. army infantry.

WHAT - They tortured Gregorio, tied him,
and dragged him through the streets
with a rope in the neck.

HOW - Beaten with iron bar and butt,
punches and kicks. Burned with acid on
the feet. Hair pulled with pliers.

WHY - Because he was a member of
the Brazilian Communist Party.


ARE YOU CRYING FOR THIS BANDIT?


"They dragged me up to the Casa Forte garden. They horrified everybody. Even Vilote's wife got a anxiety attack, and cried until she got mad. He punched my wounds and the blood squirt out. And he screamed: This is the way we treat communists. Are you crying because of this bandit? Come and see his hanging right now at the Casa Forte square!"
"Among a group of young and old ladies there was one with a red scarf in her head. Suddenly he runs up to her and says: Are you not ashamed of yourself? You are using the Moscow symbol on your head, and with total brutality pulled the scarf from her head."
